DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHAT YEAR IT IS?

In my previous post (actually on CRISCO, ETC.)
I listed my favorite music groups in the double digit years. In all years since I went to Chicago
in my 20s, CHICAGO has been one of my favorite groups,

and one of my favorite songs has always been "Does anybody know what time it is?"

In this case I am referring to what year it is and to the confusion that I have always had in counting "years of life" or "years of marriage" or "years in practice". The year after birth is one's first year of life, so we are one in our second year of life and two in our third year of life, etc.

This brings me to the fact that since passing my 6th double digit birthday, I am now in my 67th year which means that I am 2/3 of the way to 99, which is roughly how long I will need to live to see four generations of Shannon men happen again.

I have decided that I need to be in the best place possible regarding life to enjoy this last 1/3 and have committed myself to maximizing my health.

On my birthday I began walking every day and will continue to do so for the 365 days of my 67th year. A week later I began eating mostly raw food (fruits, vegetables and nuts) and plan to continue this until I have lost a pound of weight per year of age, which will be 66 pounds and that will take me back to 184 which is what I weighed in 1984.

Raw food takes more time but it is a lot more colorful and helps one to really get in touch with the tastes that are going in the mouth. All this walking should give me plenty of time to think about what I want to do with the last third of my life and the end result should be that I can finally get rid of all those various sizes of clothes that I have saved, thinking some day I would get back into them. The only ones I really care to get back into really are my custom boots from Paul Bond and some of my cool belts and buckles from the 80s.

And the end result of this project will be that it won't matter what year it is, because I will be as good as I can be for the rest.

For those who like to count, I am in my 67th year of life and my 43rd year of marriage and my 36th year of practice (37th will start July 3).
